(NCC) has instructed all telcos to bring out a
Do Not Disturb feature which allows users to
opt out from irrelevant calls and sms for
marketing purposes. Etisalat has launched
the Do Not Disturb feature which allows
users to be in the Do Not Disturb list to
avoid unsolicited calls and sms for
marketing purposes.
How to Opt Out of Annoying SMS from
Etisalat Third Party Marketing Sms
==> Go to your MSG and SMS STOP to 2442
banking,insurance & financial products: SMS
1 to 2442
=> real estate: SMS 2 to 2442
=> education SMS: 3 to 2442
=> health: SMS 4 to 2442
=> consumer goods & automobiles: SMS 5 to
2442
=> communication/broadcasting/
entertainment/IT: SMS 6 to 2442
=> tourism & leisure: SMS 7 to 2442
=> sports: SMS 8 to 2442
=> religion: SMS 9 to 2442
I am still expecting something like this from
other network providers in the country.
