The Headies organisers have
remained silent regarding this year’s edition of the
award show, while the MTV Africa Music Awards
continue to gain ground in preparation for the
seventh edition.
It’s a financial loss for Nigerians as they will be
flying over to South Africa for the 2016MAMAs for
the third year in a row – accommodation and
shopping included.
A setback was suffered last year when the 10th
edition of The Headies, previously scheduled to
hold in December, was moved to New Year’s Day.
That was followed by Olamide and Don Jazzy’s
outburst over ‘Next Rated Award’ award on behalf
of their protégés, which ended up being the big
take from the night – that otherwise would’ve
been an epic flop.
