An angry mob invaded the palace of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba
Rasheed Akanbi yesterday and destroyed a section of
the palace in an attempt to lynch a suspected female
kidnapper caught by some residents of Iwo town.
According to NaijaGist sources, the female
kidnapper was caught while making some suspicious
calls around the town and some youths who heard her
beat her to stupor.
She was later taken to the monarch’s palace by some
compassionate youths.
When the monarch interrogated her, he discovered that
the woman might be mentally unstable so he called
police to pick her up.
Oba Akanbi’s judgement reportedly angered some youths
who threw large stones into the palace premises.
Eyewitnesses said vigilant security agents stationed at
the palace immediately whisked the monarch away
secretly in order to safeguard him from attack.
