If you rocked in the late ’80s and
’90s, then you’ll know the evergreen tune ‘Wait
For Me’, a classic duet by King Sunny Ade and
Onyeka Onwenu.
The love song back then was a monster hit and it
came with controversies. It wasn’t long before
fans and the media paired up Sunny Ade and
Onyeka to be lovers as a result of the song, its
lyrics and the video.
It has however taken King Sunny Ade over 30
years after the release of the song to clear the air
on the alleged romance between him and Onyeka
Onwenu.
