The news came out yesterday that Samuel Umtiti has picked up a 'serious knee injury'.
Spanish paper AS claims that the centre-back has torn a ligament in his left knee, which will have him sidelined for quite a while.
Manager Ernesto Valverde confirmed Umtiti has sustained a serious knee injury, which reports in Spain suggest could keep the 24-year-old World Cup winner is expected to be out for 'several' months.
Umtiti played the full 90 minutes in Wednesday's stunning 2-1 defeat at Leganes which ended Barcelona's unbeaten LaLiga start but missed training on Friday ahead of the weekend clash with Athletic Bilbao.
It will certainly cause Valverde to have a serious concern. Gerard Pique hasn't been in his optimal form this season and new signing Clement Lenglet is still in a transitional phase.
