Kepa Arrizabalaga will start in goal, but Pedro is a doubt as he fights to get over the shoulder injury he suffered in the win at PAOK. Antonio Rudiger is also expected to miss out with a groin injury, which could allow Gary Cahill to retain his place in defence, particularly given Andreas Christensen hobbled off in the Carabao Cup match.
Liverpool also made eight changes for the Carabao Cup fixture between these two, including Fabinho making his debut in midfield and World Cup finalist Dejan Lovren returning from injury for his first start of the season. Long-term absentee Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is definitely out, while Divock Origi – who has not featured this season anyway – and Adam Lallana are both doubtful through injury. Virgil van Dijk was not risked in mid-week due to a rib injury but could return in defence, where he will partner one of Lovren, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.

Sunday’s 0-0 with West Ham ended their winning record, but Emerson and Hazard helped Chelsea come from behind to beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
