As soon as the match ended, the Real Madrid right-back went to check on Shaw immediately but was unable to see him.
Shaw was evacuated on a stretcher and hooked to an oxygen supply. He was then taken directly to a hospital to undergo an MRI.
That's why when Carvajal arrived at the dressing room at the end of the game he could not see Shaw in person.
However, he asked David de Gea, Shaw's teammate at Old Trafford, for his phone number in order to text him and check how he was doing.
Shaw himself responded kindly to the Spaniard, knowing that Carvajal had no bad intentions and that it was just an accident from a 50/50 ball.
