Golden Boy 2018: Checkout The 60-Man Shortlist!

The race to become the 2018 Golden Boy winner has turned up a notch, with the list of potential contenders slashed by almost half.

Kylian Mbappé, who was the talking point for his exploits with France in this summer's World Cup, remains in the handful of players left on the list. The 19-year-old, who won the award in 2017, could enter the history books by becoming the first player to win the award twice.

The 60-man list will be drastically cut down to the final 20 in November. Journalists in Europe pick the winner in December, so it's a long way away before the clear winner begins to emerge.
