Super Falcons head coach Thomas Dennerby on Monday dropped 14 players from camp as they continue preparations for the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The Super Falcons are defending champions of the AWCON and are heavy favourites to retain the trophy.
The camp of Super Falcons opened camp at Jubilee Chalets, Chalet Road, off Obafemi Awolowo Road, Epe Town on Thursday, October 18.
After a week of intense camping, Dennerby has decided to reduce the 49 players invited to camp to 35.
The coach released some of the players to participate for their clubs in the Nigeria Women's Football League (NWFL) as he is waiting for the foreign-based superstars to join up with their home-based counterparts.
Others: Anam Imo, Rasheedat Ajibade, Peace Efih, others are Glory Ogbonna, Chioma Wogu, Alice Ogebe, Amarachi Okoronkwo and Chidinma Okeke, Ugochi Emenayo, Sarah Nnodim and Nneka Julius.
The Super Falcons are drawn alongside the Bayana Bayana of South Africa, Zambia and Kenya with the competition expected to hold from 17 Nov 2018 – 1 Dec 2018 across Ghanaian cities Accra and Cape Coast.
