Posted by Thierry Henry has finally been confirmed as the new manager of Ligue 1 side Monaco as he takes up his first steps into management at his former club.
The French club sacked manager Leonardo Jardim on Thursday with the club languishing 18th in the Ligue 1 table, and Henry will now leave his role as assistant manager to Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez.
Henry has worked as Belgium assistant manager since 2016, helping them reach the World Cup semi-finals in Russia.
He was confirmed as the club's new manager on Twitter with Monaco posting a photo of him in the early stages of his playing career with the messages '#He'sComingHome' and '#ForeverMonaco'.
The former Arsenal striker returns to Monaco where he was played between 1993 and 1999, making 141 appearances and scoring 28 goals.
Henry came close to joining Aston Villa and Bordeaux, but has opted for a move to the 2017 French champions.
