Conte was contacted last Monday by Real intermediaries about replacing Julen Lopetegui - and another call, this time from Perez, was made to his agent Federico Pastorello in the aftermath of Saturday's defeat to Levante.

The Italian wants €10m (N4bn) -a-year to move to Madrid, which far outstrips Lopetegui's €6m (N2.5bn) salary.
Conte is still in dispute with Chelsea over a payoff after his dismissal at the end of last season.
