Posted by English football club Manchester City have been dealt another injury blow after Brazil right back Danilo rolled his ankle during the 1-0 win over Argentina on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old picked up the injury as he helped stop an Argentinian attack before laying on the ground in agony shortly afterwards.
Danilo struggled to hold back the tears as he limped off the field with the assistance of the medical staff in the King Abdullah Stadium in Saudi Arabia.
The full back was replaced by Liverpool midfielder Fabinho five minutes into the second half as Brazil looked to defend a corner.
Danilo cut a distraught figure as he was driven off the pitch by a medical truck during the friendly win over their rivals.
Danilo has struggled for minutes under Pep Guardiola this season, featuring just once in City's 3-0 win over Oxford in the League Cup.
Now his chances of getting more game time looked to have been dashed following his ankle injury.
The former Porto and Real Madrid man was forced to miss Brazil's World Cup campaign because of an ankle injury and it appears it was the same ankle he rolled during Tuesday's encounter.
Danilo hasn't been back in full training for that long so there will be growing concerns over the severity of his latest setback.
