Liverpool have concerns over two of their star players after Virgil van Dijk followed Mo Salah in returning from international duty early.
Less than 24 hours after playing 90 minutes and scoring in Holland's 3-0 win over Germany in the Nations League, the Dutch FA revealed that Van Dijk would not be travelling with the rest of the squad to Belgium for Tuesday's friendly.
Van Dijk is still suffering from the rib injury he sustained in last month's 3-0 win over Southampton and, after a consultation, it was decided that it would be unwise for him to play in Brussels.
Salah is heading back to Merseyside, after picking up a muscle problem in Egypt's 4-1 win over Swaziland which ruled him out of another match against the same opposition this week.
The 26-year-old, who scored direct from a free-kick before being taking off on Friday, took to Instagram to share of photo of himself in an airport departure lounge waiting to fly back to England.
Salah looked glum as he rested his head on his hand and gazed down into the camera.
Neither Van Dijk nor Salah have yet been ruled out of Liverpool's next game — away to Huddersfield on Saturday.
The pair are expected to take fitness tests ahead of the match, which could take the Reds top of the English Premier League if results go their way.
