As Ronaldo made his way off the Old Trafford pitch on Tuesday night a third pitch invader got close to the striker before security wrestled him to the ground.
Ronaldo asked the guards to hold off while he posed for a photograph before the fan was taken away. Now, 'dilmancr.7' has thanked Ronaldo on Instagram, where his profile suggests he would consider the trouble he found himself in to be more than worth it.
A look further through dilmancr.7's profile shows how much he idolises the Portugal man and how excited he was to be at Old Trafford for one of the stand-out fixtures of the UEFA Champions League group stages.
He clearly bases his appearance on him and in numerous posts can be seen working out to build up his thigh muscles - one of Ronaldo's most striking physical attributes.
There are also pictures of him mimicking Ronaldo's shorts rolled high up his thighs and in any post where he is wearing a football shirt, it has 'Ronaldo 7' on the back.
