Saturday's EPL Roundup: Liverpool Go Top, Wins For Brighton, Bournemouth And Watford
10/27/2018
A roundup of all Saturday's English Premier League action.
Liverpool 4 - 1 Cardiff City

Liverpool sits atop the Premier League, at least for a few days, after an easy win over Cardiff City on Saturday at Anfield.

Mohamed Salah had a goal and 2 assists, Sadio Mane scored twice, and Xherdan Shaqiri also scored as the Reds ran out 4-1 winners to reach 26 points on the season.

Cardiff remains 17th with five points, and got its goal from Callum Paterson.

Brighton & Hove Albion 1 - 0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Brighton & Hove Albion beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at the Amex Stadium as Glenn Murray‘s second half goal was enough to secure all three points.

Wolves created plenty of chances throughout but found Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan in impressive form as Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side tasted defeat for the second-straight game after Murray, who suffered a nasty head injury at Newcastle last week, was the difference.

With their third-straight 1-0 win Brighton move on to 14 points for the season, while Wolves have 15 and are in ninth place.

Fulham 0 - 3 AFC Bournemouth

Bournemouth beat Fulham 3-0 at Craven Cottage, as Eddie Howe‘s side continued their fine start to the season and piled more pressure on Slavisa Jokanovic.

Callum Wilson scored twice for the Cherries and David Brooks grabbed another as Fulham were reduced to 10 men late on after Kevin McDonald picked up a second yellow card.

With the win Bournemouth are now on 20 points for the season and sit in sixth place, while Fulham remain in 18th place on five points and have just one win on the board.

Watford 3 - 0 Huddersfield Town

Watford beat Huddersfield Town 3-0 at Vicarage Road but that didn’t tell the whole story.

Superb goals from Roberto Pereyra and Gerard Deulofeu put Watford in front but they had goalkeeper Ben Foster to thanks for keeping out several chances from Huddersfield.

Issac Success wrapped up the win late on as the Hornets secured their second-straight win.

With the victory they now have 19 points, while Huddersfield slip to last place in the EPL with just three points on the board.
Southampton 0 - 0 Newcastle United

Newcastle's winless start to the season was extended to 10 matches but at least they escaped with a point from a 0-0 with Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Rafael Benitez's side continue to set unwanted club records for their poorest start to a campaign and they never looked likely to break their win duck on the south coast.

But they were able to pick up a third point of the season - and actually climb off the foot of the table - thanks to some dogged defending and wayward finishing from a Southampton team who are almost as poor.

Leicester City 1 - 1 West Ham United

Wilfred Ndidi’s deflected effort finally brought Leicester City level with 10-man West Ham United at King Power Stadium.

Fabian Balbuena’s 31st minute goal came seven minutes before teammate Mark Noble was sent off for a dangerous tackle, but West Ham United nearly held on for the win.

The points gives Leicester 13 points to West Ham’s eight, the 13th place Hammers a slot below the Foxes.

Leicester’s Daniel Amartey suffered a gruesome leg injury in stoppage time.
