Cameroon will no longer host the 2019 Africa Cup of Nation after a decision was reached in CAF General’s Assembly on Friday.
Football lovers have reacted after CAF’s decision to strip the Central African nation of the hosting right of the 2019 AFCON.
The decision was taken on Friday following CAF Executive Committee meeting in Accra, Ghana.
Security and failure in infrastructural upgrades needed for a 24-team championship were some of the reasons given by the continental body.
And Twitter exploded after it was announced that Cameroon won't be hosting next year's tournament.
Check out some of the best reactions I got from Twitter:

🇩🇿 If Cameroon isn't hosting #AFCON2019, why not let Algeria host? Baraki, Tizi Ouzou and Oran Stadiums are almost done and should be ready by next summer, and we have plenty of other stadiums, it would be a big boost for a football-mad country #TeamDZ #CAN2019 pic.twitter.com/UAWzEl0q34— Walid Bylka (@bylka613_) November 30, 2018

Stripping Cameroon of the right to host #AFCON2019 is an indictment in itself of the Biya regime. It once more is glaring that this government has failed Cameroonians. Where are those Sardinas who voted for him? Help him wipe the she off his face. Well done CAF! You have improved— Emmanuel Achiri (@liquids25) November 30, 2018

Some people are very sad (Sardinard);
Others happy (Tontinards);
And some very very happy (Southern Cameroonians).
You can see how divided the country is.
As they have collected the #AFCON2019 hosting from Cameroon, will they still get automatic ticket to participate in the competition next year if they loose their last game against Comoros.— Enugu First Lady (@EnuguFirstLady) November 30, 2018

If indeed Cameroon is stripped of hosting rights for #AFCON2019 then CAF has to make sure they find a host that will not be having a rainy season in June-July, from the onset June-July was never a solution, the solution was a 4 year cycle.— African Soccer Updates (@Africansoccerup) November 30, 2018

It'll be hosted in Morocco, I'm sure about that, and Cameroon will surprise you people if it's still going to play.
I feel sorry for the people of Cameroon 🇨🇲. Stripping them of the hosting rights is not the best decision... I hope it doesn't affect African football. A joint hosting would have been better. #OneAfrica #Cameroon2019 🇨🇲— Taiye Taiwo (@tayo_taiwo) November 30, 2018

Cameroon must finish the monumental task it started and invested in for the AFCON 2019, EVEN IF STRIPPED and must use this opportunity to rebuild its sporting and tourism infrastructure and by so doing give a chance to its youth of a better tomorrow. #Cameroon, #AFCON2019— Albert.Ngwana (@BEBAKING) November 30, 2018
My understanding is that the fate of Cameroon's Afcon will be confirmed by CAF at 16h, with the executive committee currently meeting behind closed doors.— Ed Dove (@EddyDove) November 30, 2018
Bitterly disappointing for people of CMR if tournament taken from them, and major questions must be asked of CAF. #CAN
