Posted by Santiago Solari on Tuesday was confirmed as Real Madrid coach until 2021 following his successful spell in charge as caretaker boss of the European champions.
Solari took charge of the first team a fortnight ago and promptly racked up the best start of any new manager at the club in its 116 year history.
Solari's success, with his side not just winning all first four games but scoring 15 goals in the process, has earned him a chance as permanent boss.
The Argentinian made nearly 150 appearances for Real as a player in the early 2000s and returned to the club in 2013 as youth coach.
On Tuesday Madrid said in a statement:
He will earn slightly less than the €6m (N2.6bn) a season picked up by his predecessor Julen Lopetegui in what is his first big job in football after three seasons coaching the youth team.
Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho and Joachim Low had all been linked to the position.
Last season's Champions League winners Real are four points behind leaders Barcelona in the LaLiga table.
