The Arsenal striker, who underwent two ankle operations in four days earlier this month, seemed to fit a lot into his big day, most noticeably with a trip to the hospital.
His day started with a photo of himself in the back of a car, carrying a worried look alongside the caption: 'Off to get my birthday present.'
Another picture a few minutes later revealed that he was on his way to get his ankle cast removed, in order to begin the next stage of his recovery.
Welbeck then joked that his next protective layer was the 'brand new Adidas X boot', showing off the stylish addition while laying across the back seat of his car.
From there, it was time for the England man to properly enjoy his birthday, but he still managed to squeeze in some time to mock an old friend.
Posting another story on Instagram, Welbeck is seen laughing next to a raw chicken, alongside the caption 'Thanks Uncle Pat'.
He is referring to the incredible viral video that emerged last week of defender Evra - a former team-mate of Welbeck's - in which he kissed and slapped a raw chicken to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Welbeck may now be 28 and at the peak of his career in terms of age, but he will have to wait a little while longer to get back out on the pitch after suffering a horror injury while playing for Arsenal in the Europa League.
